New Class Schedule (starts tomorrow)
DUE DATES FOR THIS WEEK
WOAH. June 9th and 10th are just around the corner.
Director:
-Block your piece/give your actors motivation- get rid of all the dull space in the piece. Be a fantastic audience member and don't be afraid to experiment with the piece and change things until you find the thing that works the best for each moment
-Decide where sound cues go and what kind of sound you want and discuss this with the sound designer
-talk to your costume designer and discuss what kind of costumes you are feeling for each character. Perhaps include the actor in this discussion.
-talk to scenic designer and discuss what needs to be found/built for your piece
-YOU, Sir or Madam director, are ultimately in charge of the overall cohesiveness of your piece. Make all the puzzle pieces fit together. Create theatre that moves.
Sound designer
-talk to your director and see what kind of sounds are needed
-find the sounds and edit them if necessary
-put them in order on a cd/label the cd
-go through a script and mark which track should be playing at which part and for how long
-visit rehearsals with your laptop and practice playing the tracks when they should be played
Costume designer
-talk to your director about what he or she envisions for the piece
-talk to each actor about what he or she feels the character would wear/get sizes for each actor
-go through the script and mark any costume changes
-try to synthesize what everyone envisions in one design. Sketch the designs in color
-present designs to the director for approval
-talk to carol about funds/begin purchasing (second hand) and sewing pieces
Scenic design/Props/Construction team
-talk to each director about what objects are needed for each piece
-talk to the piece's scenic designer for things that need to be built
-stay in communication with the stage manager for other things that may change
Producer
- create a binder that has your shows script in it
- you will take notes about everything- things that change/things that get added or taken away
- you will be sure to email all designers and carol and your director notes after every rehearsal
-OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES (check in with Carol every day)
Marketing
-maintain website/twitter/youtube/etc.
-create flyer (due this Friday)
-create program
-videos and other updates
-show postcard
