Life, The Problem Edition (Click for Project Description)
About the project:
Students will explore a particular place in the world and research a real world problem that exists in that location (one that either prevents progress or human connection). They will imagine that this problem has taken over that particular region and redesign The Game of Life to simulate that problem in an imaginary, dystopian future.
Students will read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury and Anthem by Ayn Rand as both an inspiration and a warning for what can happen when a singular problem consumes society resulting in corruption, dystopia, or revolution. Students will be assigned a specific place in the world. Through research and reading, they will identify a real world problem that exists in that community and write a Choose your own Adventure based on the problem they have identified. The setting of each story will be transformed into a board game in Physics and ultimately played at our final exhibition: Family Game Night!!
