Week of October 7th
Hello Life-Long Learners,
Thanks to all those who helped out with the Multi-Cultural Festival and all those who came and enjoyed the festivities! We have a week of SLCs coming up and we’re excited to sit down with students and their families!

CELEBRATIONS
*Thank you to the Fletcher family, and the Mercado family for working our Multi-Cultural Festival booths! Special thanks to the Lira-Prado family for making the booths special for us!
*Alyna S. did some fantastic work with Illustrator and laser cutting!
*Brenden P. was helping lots of different groups with their work last week! Great job with the power tools!
*King had amazing choreography that he taught the team for their contemporary art project. Fantastic work!
*Jacob Sherman and Danny B. had some amazing work thinking outside of the box with their SLCs! Everyone has been doing some really great thinking overall!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

MANDATORY UPCOMING EXHIBITION
We are having our first exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego (Downtown) on October 17th, 2019 from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Mark your calendars! We are very excited! It is a mandatory exhibition for all students. Parents and families should plan on being there. Families, please plan on arranging transportation for your student to exhibition and back home afterward.

PSAT MONEY & FORMS
Please bring back the $17 PSAT fee and the PSAT form. Please turn in to Mrs. Howard or Mr. Schwartz (depending on which team you are on). In preparation for the PSAT, please have students get a good night’s sleep, have them eat a hearty breakfast, and remember that students cannot leave the classroom during PSATs.

SNACK DONATIONS
During PSATs, we like to give our students a snack during the break. If you are able to donate some snacks, please send them on Wednesday morning!
HALF DAYS
Reminder: Students are released at 12:30pm every day this week except for today! Good luck on all your SLCs!

SLC SIGNUPS
Below is a link to our Fall Student Led Conference Schedule. They will be happening on October 8th, 9th, 10th, & 11th. Please note, you do NOT have access to edit this document. To sign up for a time, please email Carol at [email protected] 3 times that work for you. Alternatively, you may highlight a square and put your student's name, and we will email you back a confirmation. In either case, you will receive a confirmation of your date and time for your SLC. The reason for not allowing editing access is that we have had instances in the past where names were accidentally deleted and then we had multiple families show up for an SLC. This way, we can monitor and be sure that your time is truly only your time!
