This morning, I woke up and weighed myself and had gained TWO pounds from yesterday... which I suppose I shouldn't be that surprised about given that I ate about five pounds of food... I want to place the commentary here that this project is NOT about weight. This project is about really conscious nutrition... it's something that I wish I had learned in school. What do we eat that makes us energetic? What do we eat that makes us tired?
Breakfast:
1 bottle of water
1 healthy s'more bar snack
(110 calories, 3 grams of fat, 11 grams of protein, 20% calcium 4 grams fiber)
Lunch:
1 energy bar
Snack:
1 bottle of water
2 protein bars
Macaroni and cheese
Dinner:
1 house salad with ranch dressing
Shared calamari appetizer
Shared mussels and clam appetizer
House bread with lentils in olive oil
A few bites of Cece's macaroni and cheese
This is something I noticed about myself today...snacking makes me much more energetic and it makes me less hungry. I googled this today and found this: Why You Should Snack. It's not the most reliable source, but I do think there are some things to be taken away from this... snacking helps the hunger! Good thing to note, considering I go long periods of time without eating, usually.
Another thing I noticed is that if food is in front of me... I tend to eat it. I had no intention of eating any bread or lentils or macaroni and cheese today. But I definitely found these things tasting very delicious! Cece is my roommate and we live together, and she's on board the health train as well. We went for a walk with our dogs when we both got home... perhaps we undid that walk with bread and macaroni and cheese?
