Rehearsals today!

Make a copy of and then fill out this document with your cast:
Play Needs Document

Turn in Play Needs Document

Production team:
*Finish website by this Friday
*Create program
*Create promo video 
*Finish naming showcases
*Send one person to each show to make sure you have all the props/scenic/costume pieces correctly listed so we can start collecting them all
*Sound design, begin designing sound so you are ready to play sound during our run through this Friday
*Costume designer, visit each play and talk to the cast and director about costumes. See if people have things they can bring in for their own character. Have them bring in stuff for tomorrow.

Each play:
*Each cast: Read through the script with your playwright on a computer first, make any necessary changes, and then print it out. 
*
Directors, block as much of your pieces as possible and have actors write down blocking in their scripts in pencil (in case you decide to change the blocking). 

EVERYONE:
We will have 2 hour rehearsals tomorrow and Thursday and we will run through again on Friday!

Have a conversation with them about your play:
1. What each of you is proud of in your play
2. What you would like to improve about your play 
Write these down on ONE sheet of paper to turn in to Carol.
When you've turned it in, take out your independent reading book and read.

  • Subject, style, and form are up to you.
  • Length must be a minimum of ten, typed pages using play format.
  • Tips for Writing Scripts
HOW?
  • Type the script using play format.
  • Number the pages.
  • Scripts are read anonymously, so please do not put your name anywhere on the script itself, including in the title, on page headers, footers, etc.
  • Include a brief cover letter about yourself and why you wrote this play.
  • If a teacher had you to enter, include the teacher's name and school in your letter.

Homework:
Finish editing and adding to your play and finish entering the CA Playwright's Project. Forward Carol the email confirmation that you have submitted your entry.

Finally, here is the survey to rank which roles you would be interested in and what your top 3 choices of plays would be. Tomorrow, the groups will look at the top plays that are ranked by tomorrow morning (8:30am) and we will narrow down to the 10-12 plays we will produce as a team. Just a warning that the survey is quite lengthy so set aside some time to get through it as this is your homework, due tomorrow at 8:30am: Survey to rank roles and vote for plays

A reminder that you should vote for the three plays that you would be the most excited about being part of (so when you vote for something, be prepared to act/direct/design that piece and work on it with a dramaturg who will help better the piece).
